The Inspiration

For every creative idea or concept there is always a muse behind it, and today I’d like to talk about my muse. For years I had dreamt about starting a business around my hot sauce recipes, but I never actually took the steps to make that dream a reality. Little did I know that the first step took place on a normal Thursday afternoon in early spring. I had gone to work on my day off to make another batch of my “Sweet Heat” hot sauce at the restaurant where I tended bar, and decided to have a beer before I went back home. Seeing one of my regular guests seated by herself at the end of bar, I grabbed my beer and went to say hello. After a couple of drinks and good conversation I knew that I needed to head home and walk my dog, but a spring rain was dissuading me from taking the few block walk. She offered to drop me off as she was also leaving, I almost turned her down solely based on politeness, but my gut told me to take her up on her offer. We exchanged numbers as she dropped me off, the next evening we had our first date, and now years later she still is one of the amazing people I have ever encountered.

Without her influence, her passion, or her strength there would never be a Bradshaw Sauce Co; as a matter of fact there wouldn’t be the person I am today. I’m forever thankful and it is a debt that I continue to repay everyday for the rest of our lives.

I’d like to think that the hot sauce brought us together (not literally, she’s still building a tolerance), if I hadn’t gone to work on that soggy spring Thursday, perhaps we would have never shared such a special moment, a moment that I would like to share with all of you in every bottle.
